Father Maurice, a priest at the North American Pontifical College in Rome, performs an exorcism that frees a mischievous little demon, Giuditta. Refusing to return to his realm, Giuditta attaches himself to Maurice, provoking chaotic incidents and forcing the priest to confront conflicts between duty, desire, order and personal tradition.
