What is Brave New World About?
Brave New World
Brave New World is a modern-day adaptation of Aldous Huxley's classic dystopian novel. The television series is placed in a future society known as 'New London', a utopia achieved by eliminating concepts such as monogamy, privacy, money, family, and even history. In this society, citizens are genetically engineered and indoctrinated to serve a predefined hierarchical system. The story follows characters Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne who, becoming curious about life beyond their utopian bubble, visit a Savage Lands amusement park. Their journey leads to a dramatic shift in their perspectives and the series revolves around the conflict of their newly realized desires with the existing social order. The series, with its compelling narrative and performances, discusses themes related to technology, power, control, and human nature, thus delivering a multifaceted critique of a society that seems perfect but might just be the opposite.
