Goodbye, Lara follows a mermaid princess who, after a forbidden wish to be loved by a human ends in her death, is reborn two centuries later in modern-day Japan at Lake Biwa. The series chronicles her adjustment to human life, cultural change, and efforts to reconcile memories of her past.
