Alexander Greenwald (born October 9, 1979) is an American musician, actor, and record producer. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the California rock band Phantom Planet. Greenwald was born in Los Angeles, California, and formed Phantom Planet in his teens. The band gained popularity for their song 'California,' which became the theme song for the teen drama series The O.C. Greenwald has also collaborated with DJ Mark Ronson on a cover of Radiohead's 'Just.' In addition to his music career, Greenwald has appeared in various acting roles. Phantom Planet announced a hiatus in 2008.
