Alex Rice Biography
Alexandrea Kawisenhawe Rice, born on September 16, 1972, is a Canadian actress of Aboriginal descent. She gained recognition for her roles in The Twilight Saga (2008-2012) and in a series of PBS films based on Tony Hillerman's mystery novels. Rice grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and takes pride in her First Nations heritage as a member of the Rice family from the Kahnawake reserve. Descended from Edmund Rice, an early immigrant to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, her lineage includes two Rice boys who were captured as children in 1704 and adopted by Mohawk families in Kahnawake. Rice has showcased her talent and cultural background through her acting career.
