Alex Rocco Biography
Alex Rocco (1936-2015) was an American actor known for his distinctive, gravelly voice. Born Alessandro Federico Petricone Jr. in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Rocco's career spanned several decades. He was often cast as villains and is best known for his role as Moe Greene in The Godfather (1972). Rocco also won a Primetime Emmy Award for his role in The Famous Teddy Z. Later in his career, he did significant voice-over work. Rocco served in the California Army National Guard during the Korean War. He was born to Italian immigrant parents and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts. Rocco passed away in 2015.
