Anderson Hays Cooper (born June 3, 1967) is an American broadcast journalist and political commentator. He is currently anchoring the CNN news broadcast show Anderson Cooper 360° and serving as a correspondent for 60 Minutes on CBS News. Cooper graduated from Yale University in 1989 and started his career as a correspondent for Channel One News, covering war-torn regions. He joined ABC News in 1995 and held various roles throughout the network. In 2001, Cooper joined CNN and launched his own show, Anderson Cooper 360°, in 2003. Known for his on-the-ground reporting and coverage of breaking news events, Cooper gained popularity for his coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
