Annabella Sciorra Biography
Annabella Sciorra is an American actress, born on March 29, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York City. She gained recognition for her debut film role in 1989's True Love, which earned her an Independent Spirit nomination for Best Female Lead. Throughout the 1990s, Sciorra appeared in notable films including Jungle Fever (1991), The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992), The Addiction (1995), Cop Land (1997), and What Dreams May Come (1998). On television, she received an Emmy Award nomination for her portrayal of Gloria Trillo in The Sopranos (2001–2004) and played Det. Carolyn Barek in Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2005–2006). Sciorra also received a Theatre World Award for her work in the Broadway play The Motherfucker with the Hat (2011). She became a prominent figure in the #MeToo movement after speaking out against Harvey Weinstein and testifying at his sexual assault trial.
