Anthony Shim

Anthony Shim is a Canadian actor and filmmaker based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Born in Seoul, South Korea, he moved to Coquitlam, a suburb of Vancouver, in his childhood. With a successful career in both film and television, Shim has appeared in notable productions such as the 2013 film Evangeline and had recurring supporting roles in TV series like The Guard and 21 Thunder. In addition to acting, Shim has also ventured into directing. His debut as a director, Daughter, premiered at the 2019 Vancouver International Film Festival. His second feature film, Riceboy Sleeps, premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival and received critical acclaim, winning the Platform Prize and the Rogers Best Canadian Film Award at the Toronto Film Critics Association.
