Bernard Jeffrey McCullough, known by his stage name Bernie Mac, was an American comedian and actor. Born on October 5, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, Mac gained popularity as a stand-up comedian, joining the likes of Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, and D. L. Hughley in The Original Kings of Comedy. He hosted the HBO show Midnight Mac and appeared in films such as Ocean's 11 and Mr. 3000. Mac's eponymous show ran from 2001 to 2006, earning him two Emmy Award nominations. He also starred in films like The Players Club, Head of State, Bad Santa, Guess Who, Pride, and Soul Men. Bernie Mac passed away on August 9, 2008.
