Betty Okino, born Elizabeth Anna Okino on June 4, 1975, in Entebbe, Uganda, is a retired American gymnast. She is renowned for being a member of the famous 'Károlyi Six-Pack,' which helped the United States secure their first Olympic team medal in gymnastics in 1992. Okino holds the distinction of being the first black woman, irrespective of nationality, to win multiple individual World Championship medals in gymnastics. After moving to the United States with her family, she began gymnastics at the age of 9 and quickly progressed to the elite level. Training with Marta and Béla Károlyi in Houston, she achieved remarkable success at the national and international level, including winning a silver medal at the Goodwill Games.
