Bill Fairbairn, born William John Fairbairn on January 7, 1947, is a former Canadian professional ice hockey right wing. He played 10 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), most notably with the New York Rangers. Fairbairn also played for the Minnesota North Stars and St. Louis Blues before retiring in the 1978-79 NHL season. Known for his tenacious play, Fairbairn started his hockey career with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL). He scored a total of 162 goals in his career and was recognized with all-star honors during his time with the Wheat Kings. Fairbairn's nickname, 'Bulldog,' reflects his aggressive playing style.
