Brandy Norwood

Brandy Rayana Norwood, known professionally as Brandy, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and model. Born on February 11, 1979, in McComb, Mississippi, she was raised in Carson, California. Brandy gained fame as a backing vocalist for teen groups before signing with Atlantic Records in 1993. Her self-titled debut album, released in 1994, sold six million copies worldwide. With a distinctive sound characterized by layered vocals and intricate riffs, Brandy has been nicknamed 'the Vocal Bible.' In addition to her successful music career, she has also ventured into acting, starring in the UPN sitcom Moesha (1996-2001), which earned her an NAACP Image Award. Brandy has sold over 40 million records worldwide and has received numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award and an American Music Award.
