Brian Ritchie

Brian Ritchie (born November 21, 1960) is an American musician, best known as the bassist for the alternative rock band Violent Femmes. Ritchie is also proficient at playing the shakuhachi, a Japanese bamboo flute, and holds a Jun Shihan teaching license. He has released three solo albums: 'The Blend' (1987), 'Sonic Temple & Court of Babylon' (1989), and 'I See A Noise' (1990). In 2007, Ritchie produced and toured with the Italian punk/folk band The Zen Circus, which later became The Zen Circus and Brian Ritchie. He is a dual citizen of the United States and Australia, currently residing in Australia.
