He is best known for his exceptional performances on the Hammond B-3 organ, accordion, piano, and keyboards as a member of the band Counting Crows. Gillingham has also showcased his talent on the bass guitar during live shows, notably in songs like 'Holiday in Spain.' Prior to his time with Counting Crows, he played keyboards on Train's debut album in 1998. In 2004, Gillingham earned an Oscar nomination as a co-composer for the song 'Accidentally in Love,' featured in the film Shrek 2.
