    Chris Wolstenholme Biography
Christopher Tony Wolstenholme (born December 2, 1978) is an English musician known for his role as the bassist and backing vocalist of the rock band Muse. Born in Rotherham, England, Wolstenholme later moved to Teignmouth, Devon, where he played drums for a post-punk band. It was during this time that he met Matt Bellamy and Dominic Howard, members of another band rehearsing in the same building. They convinced Wolstenholme to switch to bass and form a new band, initially called Rocket Baby Dolls, which was later renamed Muse. Wolstenholme combines bass guitar with effects and synthesisers to create the distinctive fuzz bass tones featured in many Muse songs.
