Connie Chung, born Constance Yu-Hwa Chung on August 20, 1946, is an American journalist known for her work as a news anchor and reporter on various U.S. television networks including ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC. Throughout her career, she has conducted notable interviews with individuals such as Claus von Bülow, U.S. representative Gary Condit, and basketball legend Magic Johnson. In 1993, Chung made history by becoming the second woman to co-anchor a network newscast as part of CBS Evening News. Born in Washington, D.C. to a family of Chinese immigrants, Chung's father was an intelligence officer, and she grew up with nine siblings. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in journalism in 1969.
