Cyril Leonard Shaps (13 October 1923 – 1 January 2003) was an English actor of radio, television, and film. Born in the East End of London to Polish-Jewish parents, Shaps began his acting career at a young age, providing voices for radio commercials. After serving in World War II, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and worked as an announcer and scriptwriter for Radio Netherlands. Shaps had a career spanning nearly 50 years, with numerous film and television appearances. Some of his notable film roles include Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and To Sir, with Love (1967). Shaps was known for his distinctive appearance and versatile character roles.
