Dan Bucatinsky (born September 22, 1965) is an American actor, writer, and producer. He is best known for his role as James Novak in the Shonda Rhimes drama series Scandal, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2013. Bucatinsky has also appeared in various television series, including Curb Your Enthusiasm, Weeds, Friends, NYPD Blue, Frasier, and Will & Grace. He has written, produced, and starred in the 2001 romantic comedy All Over the Guy. Bucatinsky was born in New York City to Argentine Jewish parents and is a graduate of Vassar College.
