Dan Lauria is an American actor, born on April 12, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York. He gained recognition for his role as Jack Arnold in the popular television series The Wonder Years (1988–1993), as well as for his portrayal of Jack Sullivan on Sullivan and Son (2012–2014), and Al Luongo on Pitch (2016–2017). Lauria, of Italian-American descent, grew up in Lindenhurst, New York, and graduated from Lindenhurst Senior High School in 1965, where he excelled as a varsity football player. He briefly taught physical education at Lindenhurst High School before pursuing a career in acting. Lauria served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed at An Loc near the Cambodian border. He began his acting career while attending Southern Connecticut State University on a football scholarship. Dan Lauria is widely recognized for his notable roles in various television shows.
