Danny Hoch (born November 23, 1970) is an American actor, writer, director, and performance artist. He has appeared in larger roles in independent and art house movies as well as smaller roles in mainstream Hollywood films, such as 2007's We Own the Night. Hoch is known for his one-man shows, including Jails, Hospitals & Hip-Hop and Some People, which were published together in 1998. Through his performances, he explores the multicultural and multilingual New York he grew up in, delivering adept monologues in various languages such as Cuban Spanish, Dominican Spanish, Nuyorican, Jamaican Patois, and Trinidadian English. A recurring theme in Hoch's work is the power of hip hop and its impact on diverse communities and individuals.
