David Hewlett Biography
David Hewlett is a British-born Canadian actor, writer, and director. He is best known for his role as Dr. Rodney McKay in the Stargate science-fiction franchise. Hewlett gained fame for his roles in the Canadian TV series Traders (1996—2000) and the Canadian psychological horror film Cube (1997). He has also appeared in films such as Pin (1988), Scanners II: The New Order (1991), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), and The Shape of Water (2017). Hewlett was born in Redhill, England, and moved to Canada at the age of four. He is also a self-described computer nerd and attended high school in Toronto.
