David Nichtern
David Nichtern (born February 19, 1948) is an American songwriter, television composer, and Buddhist teacher. Raised in Manhattan, he comes from a family with a background in psychiatry and Broadway production. Nichtern started his music career at a young age and became a professional musician while attending Columbia University. In the 1980s, he worked as the director of sales for the New England Digital Corporation. Later, he founded Nudgie Music LLC, which includes divisions like Dharma Moon and 5 Points Records. He is known for writing the song 'Midnight at the Oasis' and has his own world/fusion band called Drala. Additionally, he has released a solo record titled 'From Here To Nichternity' which features cues from the TV show 'One Life to Live'.
