David Aaron Proval is an American actor and former boxer, known for his roles in various movies and television shows. He was born on May 20, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, into a Jewish family. Proval's mother, Clara Katz, was an actress from Bucharest, Romania. Some of his notable film appearances include Tony DeVienazo in Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets (1973), Snooze in The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Siegfried in Four Rooms (1995), and Richie Aprile in The Sopranos (1999–2007). Proval has also had recurring roles in TV shows such as Picket Fences, Boomtown, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Additionally, he has made guest appearances in popular series such as Kojak, The Equalizer, Miami Vice, and Friday the 13th: The Series.
