He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of the tenth incarnation of the Doctor in the popular sci-fi series Doctor Who (2005–2010; 2013). Tennant has also showcased his talent in various other notable roles, such as Giacomo Casanova in the comedy-drama serial Casanova (2005), Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), and Peter Vincent in Fright Night (2011). His performances in crime drama series Broadchurch (2013–2017) as DI Alec Hardy and as Kilgrave in Jessica Jones (2015–2019) further established his acting prowess.
