Deana Kay Carter, born January 4, 1966, is an American country music singer-songwriter. She gained recognition in 1996 with the release of her debut album 'Did I Shave My Legs for This?,' which achieved 5× Multi-Platinum certification in the United States, selling over 5 million copies. Carter went on to release several successful albums, including 'Everything's Gonna Be Alright' (1998), 'I'm Just a Girl' (2003), 'The Story of My Life' (2005), and 'The Chain' (2007). Throughout her career, she has produced 14 singles, with three reaching Number One on the Billboard country charts: 'Strawberry Wine,' 'We Danced Anyway,' and 'How Do I Get There.' Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Carter is the daughter of singer Fred Carter, Jr. Despite initial setbacks, she persevered and eventually found success in the music industry.
