Donald Moffat Biography
Donald Moffat (26 December 1930 – 20 December 2018) was a British actor known for his work in both film and stage in the United States. He began his career on- and off-Broadway, earning Tony Award nominations for his performances in The Wild Duck and Right You Are If You Think You Are, as well as an Obie Award for Painting Churches. Moffat appeared in notable films including The Thing (1982), The Right Stuff (1983), and On the Nickel (1980), where he portrayed a recovering alcoholic. He also made guest appearances in popular television series like Little House on the Prairie, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, and The West Wing. Moffat was born in Plymouth, Devon, to Kathleen Mary and Walter George Moffat, and he had a principal role in the 1993 TV miniseries Tales of the City.
