Donald Sumpter (born 13 February 1943) is an English actor known for his extensive film and television career spanning over five decades. He gained early recognition for his appearances in the popular television series Doctor Who, including the 1968 serial 'The Wheel in Space' and the 1972 serial 'The Sea Devils.' Sumpter also portrayed the Time Lord President Rassilon in the 2015 Doctor Who episode 'Hell Bent.' In addition to his television work, Sumpter has appeared in various films, including the lead role of Donald Neilson in the 1977 film 'The Black Panther.' He has also been involved in numerous television adaptations of Charles Dickens' novels, such as 'Nicholas Nickleby' in 2001 and 'Bleak House' in 1985.
