Dyan Cannon, born Samille Diane Friesen on January 4, 1937, is an American actress, filmmaker, and editor. She gained recognition for her talent and received numerous accolades throughout her career. Cannon was honored with a Saturn Award, a Golden Globe Award, and three Academy Award nominations. In addition, she has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Cannon's journey in the entertainment industry began after she was crowned Miss West Seattle. She made her television debut in 1958, appearing in various episodic shows. Alongside her television work, Cannon appeared on Broadway and in B-movies. Her breakthrough film role came in 1969 with the sex comedy 'Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice,' earning her an Academy Award nomination. She received further acclaim for her roles in 'Heaven Can Wait' and other films.
