Elizabeth Shepherd (born 12 August 1936) is a British actress known for her extensive work in stage, film, and television. With a career spanning several decades, Shepherd has appeared in numerous television series, establishing herself as a prolific actress in the medium. She first gained attention with her role in the adaptation of A. J. Cronin's novel, The Citadel, in 1960. Shepherd was initially cast as Emma Peel in the iconic 1960s TV series, The Avengers, but left the production after filming two episodes and was replaced by Diana Rigg. She also had a notable stage performance in Barry England's Conduct Unbecoming on Broadway in 1970.
