Ellen Barkin (born April 16, 1954) is an American actress. She gained recognition for her breakout role in the 1982 film Diner and went on to star in notable films like Tender Mercies (1983), Eddie and the Cruisers (1983), and The Big Easy (1986). Barkin received a Golden Globe nomination for her leading role in the 1991 film Switch.
