Fiona Shaw Biography
Fiona Shaw, born Fiona Mary Wilson on July 10, 1958, is an Irish film and theatre actress. She is best known for her extensive work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre, as well as her appearances in film and television. In 2020, she was recognized as one of Ireland's greatest film actors by The Irish Times. Shaw received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in 1990 for her performances in various plays. She was also nominated for three other Olivier Awards for her roles in different productions. Shaw made her Broadway debut in 2002 and received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in Medea. She is widely recognized for her portrayal of Petunia Dursley in the Harry Potter film series (2001-2010). In 2001, she was honored with the title Honorary Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II.
