    Gabrielle Christina Victoria Douglas, born on December 31, 1995, is an American artistic gymnast. She achieved fame as the 2012 Olympic all-around champion and the 2015 World all-around silver medalist. Douglas was a member of the gold-winning teams at both the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, known as the 'Fierce Five' and the 'Final Five' respectively. She also contributed to the gold-winning American teams at the 2011 and 2015 World Championships. Douglas holds the distinction of being the first African American to win the Olympic individual all-around championship and the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in both individual all-around and team competitions at the same Olympics. In addition to her gymnastics accomplishments, Douglas has been featured in the Lifetime biopic film, 'The Gabby Douglas Story,' and had her own reality television series, 'Douglas Family Gold.' She has also authored a book.
