Gayle King (born December 28, 1954) is an American television personality, author, and broadcast journalist. She is best known for her role as a co-host on CBS Mornings, the flagship morning program of CBS News, and its predecessor CBS This Morning. King is also an editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine. She was recognized as one of Time magazine's '100 Most Influential People of 2019'. Born in Chevy Chase, Maryland, she spent a portion of her childhood in Ankara, Turkey, before returning to the United States. King graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in psychology. She began her career as a production assistant at WJZ-TV and later became a reporter at WUSA-TV.
