Gbenga Akinnagbe is an American actor and writer, born on December 12, 1978, in Washington, D.C. He is best known for his roles as Chris Partlow on the HBO series The Wire and as Larry Brown on the HBO series The Deuce. Akinnagbe was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, by Yoruba Nigerian parents. He attended Colonel Zadok A. Magruder High School and later studied Political Science and English at Bucknell University, graduating in 2000. Akinnagbe has appeared in various TV shows, including Numb3rs, and has also performed in theater productions such as the award-winning Modern Missionary. He is the cousin of rapper Wale.
