Gene Siskel
Gene Siskel (1946-1999) was an American film critic and journalist for the Chicago Tribune. He gained prominence as the co-host of various movie review television series with Roger Ebert. Siskel began writing for the Chicago Tribune in 1969 and became its film critic shortly after. In 1975, he and Ebert co-hosted a monthly show called Opening Soon at a Theater Near You, which later became the weekly series Sneak Previews. In 1982, they left Sneak Previews to create the syndicated show At the Movies. Siskel and Ebert's partnership continued with Siskel & Ebert & the Movies. Siskel was known for his sharp humor and intense professional rivalry with Ebert.
