Golden Brooks is an American actress known for her roles in both film and television. She rose to prominence with her starring role in the Showtime comedy series 'Linc's' from 1998 to 2000. Brooks has appeared in notable films such as 'Timecode' (2000), 'Impostor' (2001), 'Motives' (2004), 'Beauty Shop' (2005), and 'Something New' (2006). From 2000 to 2008, she portrayed Maya Wilkes in the UPN/The CW comedy series 'Girlfriends,' earning her two NAACP Image Award nominations. In 2019, Brooks received critical acclaim for her performance in the TNT limited drama series 'I Am the Night.' Apart from her acting career, Brooks is a classically trained dancer and holds a Master's degree from Sarah Lawrence College.
