Gordon Gano Biography
Gordon James Gano (born June 7, 1963) is an American musician, singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He is best known as the frontman of the American folk punk band Violent Femmes. Born in New York City to actor parents Norman and Faye Gano, Gano grew up in Connecticut before his family moved to Wisconsin in 1973. His father, an accomplished actor, exposed him to various musical genres. Gano appeared in several productions of his father's community theater group in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Gano's religious upbringing as a devout Baptist influenced his music. He continues to contribute to the music industry as a talented artist and performer.
