Halle Berry

Halle Maria Berry (born Maria Halle Berry; August 14, 1966) is an American actress. She began her career as a model and gained recognition by finishing as the first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant and sixth in Miss World 1986. Berry had her breakthrough in the romantic comedy Boomerang (1992) and went on to star in films like The Flintstones (1994) and Bulworth (1998). She won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of Dorothy Dandridge in the television film Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999). Berry became one of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses in the 2000s and made history by becoming the first African American woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Monster's Ball (2001). She is also known for playing Storm in the X-Men film series (2000–2014).
