Hugh Quarshie Biography
Hugh Anthony Quarshie (born 22 December 1954) is a Ghanaian-born British actor. He is best known for his roles in Highlander (1986), The Church (1989), Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), and the Doctor Who episodes 'Daleks in Manhattan' and 'Evolution of the Daleks' (2007). Quarshie also played the role of Ric Griffin in the BBC One medical drama Holby City (2001–2020) for 19 years, making him the longest-serving cast member. He confirmed his departure from the show in October 2020 but returned for its final episode in March 2022. Quarshie is of mixed Ghanaian, English, and Dutch ancestry, born in Accra, Ghana.
