Iyanla Vanzant (born Rhonda Eva Harris on September 13, 1953) is an American inspirational speaker, lawyer, New Thought spiritual teacher, author, life coach, and television personality. She gained recognition through her books, including her eponymous talk show, and her appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show. From 2012 to 2021, Vanzant hosted the popular OWN series, Iyanla: Fix My Life. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Vanzant faced challenges early in life after the death of her mother and leaving an abusive marriage. She later became ordained as a Yoruba priestess and adopted the name Iyanla. Vanzant continues to inspire and empower audiences through her teachings and appearances.
