Clyde Jackson Browne, born on October 9, 1948, is an American singer, songwriter, and political activist. He emerged as a teenage songwriter in mid-1960s Los Angeles and achieved his first successes writing songs for others. Browne's song 'These Days' became a minor hit for Nico in 1967. He also wrote songs for bands like the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and the Eagles, co-writing the hit 'Take It Easy'. Encouraged by his songwriting success, Browne released his self-titled debut album in 1972, which included hits 'Doctor, My Eyes' and 'Rock Me on the Water'. Browne has sold over 18 million albums in the United States.
