Jade Wu is a Chinese-American actress, playwright, producer, director, and editor. She was born on January 5, 1953, in Tokyo, Japan. Wu is the granddaughter of actor and director Yuanlong Wang, known for his work in Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan. She has worked on notable television shows such as General Hospital and One Life to Live, both airing on ABC. Wu has also written for Disney and has scripted and directed numerous documentary films, which have been screened at prestigious events such as the IFP Market, Asian American International Film Festival, and Sundance Producers Conference. As a playwright, her works have been featured at the Santa Clara Experimental Theater Festival and La Jolla Studio Stage. Wu has also served as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, and as a juror for the International Emmy Award.
