Jake Shears

Jake Shears, born Jason Sellards on October 3, 1978, is an American musician known as the co-lead vocalist of the pop-rock band Scissor Sisters. The band achieved chart success in the 2000s before going on indefinite hiatus in 2012. Since 2017, Shears has embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut solo studio album, Jake Shears, in August 2018. He followed up with his second album, Last Man Dancing, in June 2023. Shears has also collaborated with various artists and made his Broadway debut in Kinky Boots in 2018. Born in Mesa, Arizona, he grew up in San Juan Island, Washington and attended Friday Harbor High School.
