He began his career at his hometown club, Preston North End, making his professional debut in 2010. Proctor has played for various clubs throughout his career, including Stockport County, Swansea City, Shrewsbury Town, Crawley Town, Fleetwood Town, Bradford City, Bolton Wanderers, Carlisle United, and Rotherham United. He has achieved notable success, being part of the League One promotion-winning season with Bolton Wanderers in 2016-17. Proctor currently plays for Barrow as a striker.
