Jane Goodall

Jane Goodall, born Valerie Jane Morris-Goodall, is an English primatologist and anthropologist. Born on April 3, 1934, in Hampstead, London, Goodall is renowned as the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees. Her groundbreaking research on the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees spans over 60 years. In 1960, she embarked on her first expedition to Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania, where she observed and studied chimpanzee behavior. Goodall is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots & Shoots program, and has been actively involved in conservation and animal welfare issues throughout her career. She has received numerous accolades and is recognized as a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
