Jeff Rawle Biography
Jeffrey Alan Rawle (born 20 July 1951) is an English actor known for his roles in various television shows and movies. He portrayed George Dent in the news-gathering sitcom Drop the Dead Donkey and Silas Blissett in Hollyoaks from 2010 to 2012, returning to the show in 2016, 2020, and 2022. Rawle also gained recognition for his portrayal of Amos Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). Born in Birmingham, West Midlands, he attended King Edward VI School in Aston before moving to Sheffield where he developed an interest in drama. Rawle trained at LAMDA and made his television debut in 1973 on the show Billy Liar.
