Jerry Lawler Biography
Jerry O'Neil Lawler, better known as Jerry 'the King' Lawler, is an American color commentator and professional wrestler. Born on November 29, 1949, Lawler has had a successful career in the wrestling industry. Before joining WWE in 1992, he competed in various territories, winning numerous championships, including multiple World Heavyweight Championships. Lawler is a one-time AWA World Heavyweight Champion and a three-time WCWA World Heavyweight Champion, who unified the titles by defeating Kerry Von Erich at Superclash III. He also held the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship 28 times. Lawler is famous for his feud with comedian Andy Kaufman and portrayed himself in the 1999 film Man on the Moon. Despite not winning any championships in WWE, Lawler holds the record for the most recognized championships in professional wrestling history.
