Joseph Anthony Mantegna (born November 13, 1947) is an American actor known for his diverse roles in film, television, and theater. He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of FBI Supervisory Special Agent David Rossi in the CBS television series Criminal Minds, a role he has held since 2007. Mantegna has also made his mark in the world of animation, lending his voice to the recurring character Fat Tony, a mob boss, on the long-running animated series The Simpsons, as well as The Simpsons Movie. With his Tony Award-winning performance in David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross, Mantegna established a fruitful collaboration with the playwright, helming several of Mamet's productions on Broadway. His talent and versatility have made him a respected figure in the entertainment industry.
