Joe Satriani Biography
Joseph Satriani (born July 15, 1956) is an American rock guitarist, composer, and songwriter. He gained recognition early in his career as a guitar instructor, with notable students including Steve Vai, Larry LaLonde, and Kirk Hammett. With a successful solo music career that began in the late 1980s, Satriani has sold over 10 million albums, making him the bestselling instrumental rock guitarist of all time. He has been nominated for 15 Grammy Awards. Satriani has collaborated with Mick Jagger, toured with Deep Purple, and founded the G3 tour. Since 2008, he has been the guitarist for the supergroup Chickenfoot. Satriani was born in Westbury, New York.
